Father Christmas!

Fun is the word for our Friday Family Fun night!
(and cold)

We baked cookies and muffins. Made Hot cocoa and filled snowman baggies full of mini marshmallows. We packed everything into our pic nic basket along with the blankets and headed out the door. We were on our way to visit with Father Christmas and watch the fireworks! Father Christmas actually brought his sleigh and posed for pictures outside of the Summit. OK so this is where I should let you know things began to break down. See Orren had a melt down as I handed him off to Jolly Ol' St. Nick. Actually, melt down would be an understatement. He thought his mother was out of her mind for handing him to this strange man. As soon as he was back in my arms he began to breathe again. Big tears streaming down his face as he watched every twitch of that red suit. You see his sister was still up there telling what she wants for Christmas. I will post the picture when I get it scanned into the computer. It is a hoot!

After all of that DRAMA, we found the perfect spot to pull the Yukon in backwards to view the fireworks. We opened the back, put down our pic nic blanket, and turned the children loose! They ate Muffins, cookies, and drank Hot Cocoa until they were about to pop. They oooed and ahhhhed as the huge display was set to the Christmas music. Orren would point and say OHHH WOW!!!!!!!!! (Mother said we should have known he would like the fireworks... they go boom and involve gun powder. He is such a man! I think she is exactly right.)

I should also mention that my husband has turned our Yukon into a reindeer. (Thanks Michelle) It has antlers and a huge red nose! The children adore it!

Now that we all have tummy aches, (Mommy forgot to bring any REAL food for dinner, oh well wouldn't we have all liked to have had that as a meal when we were little?) we have shuffled everyone off to bed. While dreams of SEC championships dance in our heads!
ROLL TIDE!
Merry CHRISTmas!
