Welcome to the Blog Plantation Y'all

Our family welcomes you and thanks you for stopping by to visit. We are delighted you have taken a few minutes out of your day to spend with us. We are Joe and Jessica. We have two children and one very regal beagle! We post often and it usually includes details of our Christian faith; life here in the South; entertaining our family and friends; tales of our travels; as well as the daily adventures of having two children. Oh, and our passion for Alabama Crimson Tide Football!
Grab a mint julep, relax, and enjoy the site. Don't forget to leave us a message. You can click under any blog entry to do so. We love to hear from our guests.

Sara Evans and Jay Barker, weekend plans and TV shows

More pictures of Chief and GrandMaMa in the mountains

I have been cleaning and organizing again today!I have also been watching the food network. Now I am a gourmet chef and ready to cook something. I am also planning out our weekend out. Bama has a week off so football will be at a minimum.

It might be time for a trip to the Botanical Gardens for a pic nic! Think it is too cold? I love to see what is blooming for the fall there. I also need to get the Christmas card picture of the children. Running out of time!! So it might just be the perfect opportunity!

Can I just say that I think The Real Housewives of Atlanta are a hot mess! I cannot believe I even waste my time watching them. But sadly, I do, there is not a whole lot on at 2AM in the morning. You take what you can get. That and Wife Swap (Jen, I decided to live dangerously and actually list the name!) Anyway, back to the housewives. I cannot believe these women are representing women of the south. What? They have no class, no remote understanding of etiquette or poise. Southern Belles they are not! I am 90 % of the time embarrassed for them. Tonight is the season finale. I am thinking I might have to actually watch this one at its prime time showing instead of my early morning hours. I will be so glad to see this group of women go into the archives!

Over the weekend I got word that Jay Barker and Sara Evans were in town. See Hewy for pictures and details. Seems they were eating at Incahoots. How cool is that? Just goes to show that our little town is truly magical and a draw to everyone!
Time out for a Christmas questionnaire
Got this from my Aunt Beth :

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! Change all the answers so that they apply to you. Then send this to a whole bunch of people you know or post to your blog.
Tis the Season to be NICE!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, I love all the beautiful boxes and ribbon shimmering under the tree.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real in the Foyer, artificial in the living room & kitchen. The children have little ones in their bedrooms.
3. When do you put up the tree? The day after Thanksgiving or very close to it. NEVER before
4. When do you take the tree down? The day after Christmas, it must be down by New Year's
5. Do you like egg nog? Oh my goodness yes! I love store bought, but live for the annual homemade egg nog
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Seriously, I was so rotten and got everything I ever wanted how could I pick a favorite? I guess, my cabbage patch kids
7. Do you have a nativity scene? yes, I love putting it out every year.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My Children, they already have EVERYTHING! followed only by Michelle
9. Easiest person to buy for? My Mother, bless her precious soul. She loves anything and makes you think it was just what she wanted. NO MATTER WHAT IT IS!
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, I love the ease of email, but there are some things that are just meant to be mailed.
11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? last year a relative(one that should have) did not do for my children for Christmas, Olivia was devastated and that crushed Joe and I. We used it as a teaching opportunity for MANY things.

19. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open one gift a piece on Christmas Eve in front of the fireplace and open everything Christmas morning then have breakfast
20. Most annoying thing about this time of year? People that do not fully appreciate the reason we have Christmas and want to change they way we observe it. Like Holiday trees etc.

Merry Christmas To All,
AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT !
(are you ready to hear that yet? I'm not!)

OK back to blogging:
Speaking of our little town I am so excited about the new restaurant opening 122 Tree Lane that is the name not the address. Looks like a great place to go for date night or girls lunch. I am very interested in the personal chef situation. AND earning free meals. LOL Wonder if linking them and plugging them on the blog gets you any points? Seriously though I am too excited about them. Hope to visit a lot during the Christmas season!
I have to go and make our fried ravioli for dinner. Thanks Paula Deen!

Have a good night everyone!

I LOVE the "Housewives of ...", all of them! Hey, it's better than watching rape, murder and mayhem on the networks! Hubby has even gotten into it. I can't wait for next Tuesday when the Atlanta reunion comes on and then the premiere of the new season of the original "Housewives of OC" ... say what you will, but it's comical and entertaining.

Yes my sweet Abbey the Housewives are entertaining and funny. I to cannot wait to see the reunion, looks like sparks are gonna fly! WHEW!
I was just saying I would have preferred they be from anywhere but the South, we have enough stereotypes, that's all!
