Those mischievous elves!

I shared with you last year

 the tradition of The Elf on the Shelf.

I actually started this with my children in 2005.

  I am SHOCKED at how it has become such a phenomenon!

 Originally, you had to order directly

from the "North Pole"

your package would arrive

 with the official postage stamp and markings.

 Now, every local boutique is carrying it.

That is a little sad I think.

There was something magical

about it being shipped directly.

Anyway, our elves have traditionally arrived on Thanksgiving Day.

Since then they have been

spying on the children by day,

and reporting back to Father Christmas

in the dark of night!

They return before everyone wakes

and they are always in a different spot!

The children get so excited

trying to find where they have perched

 to watch all of the activity for the day!

Here are a few of the places they have been spotted!

Usually it is high out of reach of children

so that they won't be touched and loose

their magic!

I think I have over heard some major plans of mischief. Perhaps for the weekend.
