Fairy tales and children

We are praying for a dear friend. We live in, at times,  a very scary and dangerous world for children.  I have heard over and over again about the stuff they hear, the stuff they see, and the stuff they read. While I agree with so much of this, I was also reminded of this quote so I wanted to share it with all of you. I think it is so very true.

Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed." ~G. K. Chesterton

That is an excellent quote, and so true. Children move easily between reality and fantasy...and then we outgrow it...it is important to remember what it is like for our children. Thank you for sharing it. I love G.K. Chesterton
