Foodie Friday

It is Foodie Friday!
Our Hostess is
Designs By Gollum

Today we are sharing
Southern Belle Tamale Pie
(a family recipe)

2-3 jars/ cans of tamales
1 can of chili (with or without beans)
1 Can of WHOLE Kernel corn (drained)
1 Can stewed tomatoes (drained)
1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 bag of Fritoes

Make sure you are using WHOLE KERNEL CORN. I realized when I opened my can of corn I had grabbed sweet cream style. So I put that in the fridge and got the RIGHT kind. The picture was prior to my discovery!

Unwrap tamales and line the bottom of baking dish

In a separate bowl mix chili, tomatoes (I slightly chop mine), and corn

Pour over tamales

top with mozzarella and bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and cheese melts

Then serve warm with Fritoes!

ENJOY!!!

This is my first visit and I am enjoying it very much. I linked over from Candys comments. I am kind of new to Alabama, and I will have to try some of the southern cooking you show, as my husband is originally from here. Thank you for the recipes.
