Foodie Friday!

( Click on photo to visit our hostess Gollum)

WOW!

I am so excited about being back for Foodie Friday!
Today we are making
Capt. Phil's Crab Canoes.
Capt. Phil is a precious friend of my parents in Gulf Shores. He is also a fishing Capt. So if you are ever in need for a chartered fishing trip find him here: Island West Charters

These are amazing.

I hope you enjoy them as well.

Our Shopping List:

1lb of crab meat fresh or canned (drained)

2 cups of Shredded Cheddar Cheese

1 cup (more or less to taste) Mayo

1 large bunch of green onions

1 loaf of Italian bread

Mix all ingredients together except bread. Cut center of bread out to form a "canoe" Hang on to the bread removed for later. Fill "canoe" with crab mixture. Sprinkle your favorite seasoning such as Old Bay or Seafood Magic on top. Bake @ 350 degrees for 25 minutes. While baking cut up remaining center of the bread into cubes. Toss along the sides of "canoe" on baking sheet for the last 5 minutes of baking so that they "toast". After you remove the "canoe" You might want to squeeze a lemon over the top. Enjoy!

See Y'all next week.

Thanks for eating at the blog Plantation Today!

This is FABULOUS!!! I am making this tomorrow night for Dr. G and Bandwith. It's one of the most inventive recipes I've ever seen! In fact, I'm calling my mama right now to tell her about it. We LOVE crab.
Have a great weekend.

I made this recipe today. We even invited a lady from church to join us. We used immitation crab. I couldn't bring myself to pay $21 for crab. I still turned out great. It was easy to make, and everyone liked it. We had it with a green salad and fresh fruit. Thanks for sharing this yummy recipe. We will definately make it again.
