Before you ask.. NO THIS IS NOT A STENCIL.
This is the pumpkin that has become a tradition at our house for Halloween. My mother actually designed and carved him for the first time about 10 years ago. I have carved him every year since. I am thinking of putting him on a carvable pumpkin from the craft store next year, so that I do not have to keep doing him over and over. BUT it wouldn't be Halloween at our house if the old man did not make an appearance!
This is the Princess's pumpkin of the year. She wanted a cat and a moon! She drew it off and Joe carved. I know there are a lot of stencils out there. But they free handed this one folks!
This stencil can be found in the Martha Stewart Living Magazine October 2006 page 164. I fell in love with it then. ( I tend to do things from years past that I love)
I love using it with the dry ice don't you? However, she said if you use it as a punch bowl you should line it with a clear glass bowl.
(Not a bad picture to have been taken with my dad's iphone huh?)
It is fairly easy. Just follow the stencil. I made a copy of mine on the copy machine and went from there. Maybe, you can print this out and play with it.

You and your family are unbelievably talented!! I am so impressed. Wish I had the patience to sit and work on something like that.

I am SO SO SO impressed! You all are so creative! I love the Princesses Cat and Moon idea and that her daddy took care of that for her. Very sweet.
I hope that you are having a wonderful week. I swear if I lived nearby I would get you to go have lunch with me. I would so enjoy seeing you and just chatting.
