And the winner is.......................

You got it tonight is the Oscar's

THE night of glitz and glamour!

I am preparing our ACADEMY AWARDS BANQUET.
We love this night and find it so much fun! We will "dress the children up" (guess that Orren will get one more use out of the tux)for our red carpet affair complete with "fancy finger foods" Then we will cheer for our favorites!
What is your tradition?

  4. IMHO Anand I think that it won because it was the "awards darling" and the award shows have begun to get too caught up in these sappy Cinderella stories. I am not talking about the plot of the movies I am talking about the way they came to be. It was competing against some heavy competition and I do not believe that it should have won. It was an OK movie with no real challenge to the story or actors. How can you compare it "objectively" (I have checked out your profile I know your background)to the work of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button? That is art, talent, risk, all the things an award winning movie should be. That was not the only nominated movie that could or should have won over Slumdog. Milk~ although it is against my beliefs, was well done and well acted! The Reader~ Kate Winslett dug to the depths of her being for that one and Frost Nixon~ Goodness, I thought I was actually witnessing history unfold
I hope you do not find my answer confrontational or offensive, that was not my intention and you did ask me ; ) So in short, I do not feel the best film won.
